whoa, so much going on so fast.

The competition went very well.
The short program- good 2 lutz from footwork, flying sit (not phenomenal, but about on par with everyone else's i hear), 2 axel (two footed and a little cheated, but i didn't fall!!!), footwork sequence could have been better but wasn't bad at all, popped the double/double combo, and did a single/single(which i think is hilarious, but it saved me from a deduction), ok combo spin, ok spiral sequence, good layback spin...all in all for me this is a good program because i didn't look tired and i skated the way i know how to skate, which is a new thing for me in competition.:)
The freeskate- kinda weak combo spin, spiral seq was fine but i need to fix it so that i have more positions held longer, 2 axel two footed and cheated again but i still didn't fall!!!!, good 2 loop, 2 lutz/popped 2 loop, split lutz/falling leaf/2 toe, weak layback spin, kinda slow footwork (started to get a little tired at this point), 2 sal (weak, held on to it), good 2 flip, ok 2 lutz, weak death drop....This was good for me because I made few large mistakes and i was strong enough to keep fighting when i was tired (which is not typical for me, i tend to get tired and then fall apart), i had no combos, but i had a sequence which kept me from getting a large deduction.
So I'm really optomistic looking towards Centrals even though I still have a lot of work to do. I have a direction to aim for and I know what I have to do to get as close as I can to being ready next month.

Other things going on too today.
Today I finally got my drivers licence:) I havn't driven in a long time, but last night I had Greg take me driving so i could work out the kinks and get comfortable before my test this morning. Dad let me drive to vacaville to the dmv and then i took my test. It didnt start so good...dad parked the car next to a big concrete pilar. so when i was pulling out of the parking space i had a heck of a time getting out without geting too close to the pilar. I was freaking out becase my test had barely begun and i could not even get out of he parking spot. I noticed quite a few paint marks on the pilar as i struggled to get around it and I said to the tester " I bet this is where a lot of people get stuck, I can tell by all the paint marks on the pilar" we giggled about it a sec and then i was able to pull out and get going. It wasn't bad, i made about 5 mistakes total, they were small things, silly things that i forgot to do once or twice. I had to do a backing maneuver (which i have not practiced) and pretended i was not freaking out in my mind and actually did quite well. I've been kinda wound up all day, i was really nervous. I drove myself back to Vacaville today and it was the first time I've ever driven by myself....that was a little stressful...i have to get myself back home tonight in one piece too. It's a little wierd not having Greg or Dad there to keep me from making big mistakes anymore, I'me used to having one of them there to remind me of stuff. I will be doing a lot of back and forth driving from now on so I'll get used to it quick i think.

This weekend we, the vvfsc, are having a fundraiser ice show. It will likely be small compared to shows we've done in the past, but we're working on it. I will be doing my short program for practice...i need to perform as much as possible. This week I need to find a way to thank the skaters who are coming to skate for us, i had an idea, but didn't get quick response from the board so i'll find something i can kinda do on my own in the last min...like always. I'm good with it though...it's the only way to get things done right...do it yourself.

Next week is the concert and I am so excited I can't even contain myself...for real, i can't:) I wish that Tosha could go but I really don't see that happening and I'll be glad have Greg go with me. I got to get on plannign for that too, I need to get the kids co-ordinated so that we can get there early and have a good fun dinner and then be at arco nice and early to ensure the best time ever! see just can't contain my enthousiasm....MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
